Dinghy valves: particularities of inflation and deflation of tubes and bottoms
The correct pressure of tubes and bottoms is still a very frequent problem in the management of your dinghy, which can depend on incorrect inflation pressure, but also on the deterioration of the fabrics and dinghy valves themselves - if they are not of good quality or correctly treated.
In order for the dinghy valves to maintain the correct pressure, it is important that they are constantly serviced and checked, and that you ensure they are not excessively dirty or damaged. If left untreated, this condition can significantly affect their hermetic seal.
INSPECT YOUR DINGHY VALVES THOROUGHLY
If you notice that the tubes and bottom of your dinghy are losing pressure, and there are no obvious cuts or deep damage to the fabric to justify this loss, then the problem lies in the valves.
A thorough inspection of the dinghy valves is essential, regardless of the problem. Our advice is to periodically check that everything is in order: preventing a possible valve breakage allows you not only to avert the problem with time and expenses reduced as much as possible, but also prevents possible further damage caused by using the dinghy in conditions of excessive stress, with worse consequences.
DINGHY VALVES PROBLEMS … AND MORE: BE CAREFUL DURING INFLATION!
It might seem counterintuitive but try not to inflate your dinghy while standing too close to the sea!
In fact, while you introduce air inside the tubes or the bottom, water vapor is always introduced inside them too. This will be all the more intense the closer one gets to the sea, due to the greater humidity. Consequently, if the air sooner or later tends to escape from the dinghy valves - thus causing partial deflation - the water resulting from humidity will accumulate as time passes.
Humidity in fact means water, which means salt, which in turn means sodium chloride: this substance, in addition to being one of the main causes of the aging of fabrics, often attacks the components of the dinghy valves, creating actual encrustations which affect their tightness and their overall performance.
DINGHY VALVE 2023: INTRODUCING VA NX!
Smaller, and much more resistant: this is how we could summarize VA NX, the new product among Scoprega inflatable valves.
This valve is of significantly smaller dimensions than those currently on the market, and is available in different colors and customizable with your own logo on the cap, to make the inflatable boat truly unique.
From a purely technical perspective, VA NX can be replaced independently of the inflatable to which it is applied and is available both with a threaded ring fixing nut, and with a tang that can be welded to the fabric of the inflatable.
